Considering that the largest patent troll company in the world has Microsoft's fingerprints all over it, I shudder to think about what this one will do. I guess its easier to just name Intellectual Ventures LLC without mentioning what they do.

Micro-soft VP Horatio Gutierrez is smack in the middle of his IP tour dealing out threats and the usual extortion routine of 'sign this or else' they have perfected so I would guess it would have to do with intellectual property.

I am glad to see that Bill Gates has remained involved in the "technical world". It appears that he will keep this new orginzation small and thus avoid many of the negatives aspect of a large company. I expect some fantastic scientific break throughs as a result of bgC3.

recent news said that Bill Gates has invested huge amounts of money in the algae-derived biofuel (that's one of the most promising technology for easy and cheap alt-energy production) so the C3 of the logo could mean something like "Cheap 3nergy" or "Continuous 3nergy" etc.

How exciting to hear that Bill Gates and Warren Buffet will be acting as the catalyst to bring together people and ideas.
I'm looking to take the next step in Aviation commercial travel by re-designing airplanes to be able to dock into the terminals and accept a passenger loading system that will allow passengers to be loaded and un-loaded while they remin seated. I have a US patent and have filed in europe on this concept and a DVD to show the over all concept. Looking for investers/partners who can see as I do the need to make major changes in aviation to cut operational cost and at the same time make flying an enjoyible experience. Once again the passengers can glide in and out of the aircraft while remining seated, no more waiting in lines on or off the aircraft.
This will have a positive impact on aviation in a number of areas such as, Safety, Homeland security, ADA, and most of all environmental concerns.
